Multiples sclerosis is a potentially disabling diseases. The pouring techniques represented the chaotic nature of the disease. The tears gradually increased in size throughout the artworks show the gradual deterioration of the protective coating (myelin sheath) of the nerve fibers. The stitching represents the messages within the central nervous system being altered. I left the frame exposed as it represents the nerve fiber meanwhile the coating gradually deteriorates.
