Valentina Saric

I was born in 1984 to a happy childhood with a sister and younger brother in a small town near Sarajevo, capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The immense unfortune brought by the civil war took away our father and made us seek shelter in several towns and villages in south-west of state until our, by then terminally ill mother, finally succeeded to provide the four of us a home in antient city of Mostar. All that turmoil in early years of my life moved my young heart and soul to see the world in a different perspective so I started very young to express myself using fine art painting. It helped me to go through to the next day and on the way to release everything that was hiding and lurking within me. I was painting all through elementary and high school which led me to obvious choice for my college education – Academy of Fine arts. That is where I found myself completely. During Academy years, my work consisted mainly of self-portraits as expression of pain accumulated within me. After graduating and receiving the title of Academy-certified Painter and Professor of Fine Arts, my work moved towards surrealism and abstract art which continued to flourish in next places I also now call home: Rijeka in Croatia and Dubai in UAE.
I was always inspired by music and combining it with fine art painting always triggered my creativity as both of those expression forms start with feelings one accumulates and grows within himself until they are ready to burst into the world around us. Further expression of my nature comes by hand crafting lady hats inclusive fascinator creations and by playing various musical instruments.
