Ayah Hajj is an Iraqi-Canadian, born in Kuwait and raised in Canada since the age of one. From a young age, Ayah always had a knack for art but decided to focus on her other passion- understanding refugee challenges and helping them successfully integrate into their new home. She has a BA in Political Science, and an MA in Public Policy and Administration.
It is only as of recently, during the COVID pandemic that Ayah decided to pursue art full time. She describes her art as intuitive and abstract. Often, each piece she creates is inspired by a particular song, a mood or simply, life around her. Emotions derived from music and matters of life often dictate the movement of her brush.
For Ayah, art is therapy and forever evolving. She believes each person's interpretation of a piece is a reflection of their own world view, evoking particular emotion or perspectives, unique to each like a fingerprint
